Your responsibilities
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply agreements, software licensing agreements, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, finance/bank-related agreements, indemnity letters, and contracts pertaining to wholesale/B2B and retail/B2C business, such as brand licensing agreements, retail agreements, manufacturing agreements, Leave and License, and Lease agreements.  
  • Providing legal counsel on various business operations in India, encompassing data privacy implications, intellectual property matters, FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act), FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) regulations, and labor issues.  
  • Overseeing and managing litigation and disputes involving AstorMueller or its operations in India.  
  • Conducting comprehensive legal research and staying abreast of changes in laws and regulations that impact the company's operations and providing timely advice on legal actions. Regularly updating the CFO, other stakeholders, and senior management on critical issues and recent legal developments.  
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and developing policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks effectively.  
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional departments, including finance, HR, Operations, Retail, IT, Logistics, and Product, to safeguard the company's interests.  
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of global compliance processes and policies.  
  • Working with stakeholders to structure complex transactions, providing legal opinions, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory compliance, and offering advice on general corporate matters.  
  • Directing all day-to-day legal activities, including contract management, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, intellectual property protection, privacy matters, and internal support for various departments.  
  • Participating in all legal activities and assisting the CFO and other stakeholders in projects requiring drafting of agreements, guidelines, internal and external policies, process streamlining, risk identification, and mitigation.  
  • Managing corporate legal activities, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Due Diligence, Investment-related transactions, and Corporate Restructuring. 
Your profile
  • LLB/LLM from reputed institution  
  • PQE of 10 to 15 years of experience, preferably in an in-house legal role at a Product, manufacturing, technology-based company.  
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with experience in demonstrating strong negotiation skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work autonomously, exhibiting self-motivation and effective decision-making capabilities even in the absence of direct supervision. 
  • Capacity to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently, while adeptly prioritizing tasks within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills, fostering collaborative relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. 
  • Knowledge of Indian laws and regulations pertaining to retail, privacy, intellectual property, labor, and corporate affairs. 
  • Self-driven and motivated individual with a steadfast commitment to ethical principles, possessing a high level of integrity and demonstrating consistent follow-through in all endeavors. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills in English. Familiarity with Hindi, Kannada and Tamil will be viewed favorably. 
  • Confident and decisive, demonstrating assertiveness in addressing challenges. 
  • Proficient in comprehending complex issues and adept at grasping the underlying nuances. 
  • Open-minded and receptive, displaying a genuine eagerness to acquire new knowledge and skills. 
  • Effective listener, adept at attentively absorbing and processing information conveyed by others
